puppet-lint software package provides check puppet manifests for style guide conformity, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install puppet-lint
puppet-lint is installed in your system.
Make ensure the puppet-lint package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep puppet-lint *
You will get with puppet-lint package name, version, architecture and description in a table
